Finding Women’s Voices – Linda Ulleseit and Kathryn Pritchett
December 20, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm PST
Explore how historical fiction allows other viewpoints to be told: like the victims, the slaves, and especially the women. Innovation didn’t come from women who stayed home and agreed with hubby. Voting, legislation for child safety and for women’s bodies, women in men’s careers, Me Too, and equal pay, all came from women whose voices historically were never recorded. But all the battles, dynasties, politics have been written by men because history is written by the victors. Fiction can make up for all those experiences that were never recorded and allow those voices to be heard. This presentation, given by two members of Paper Lantern Writers, will share historical fiction titles that showcase women and talk about the evolution of women’s voices in the genre.
